
Frederick Drazner, DVM ACVIM
Internal Medicine Specialist
Dr. Frederick Drazner joined our team at the Animal Care Center of Barrington in January 2022 as a Staff
Internist, bringing with him a wealth of experience from various specialty hospitals. He focuses on treating problem internal medicine and oncology cases. He earned his BS, BVSCm and DVM from the University of Illinois before completing his Internship and residency at The Animal Medical Center from 1972-1975.

Drazner’s professional interests include Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, and treating cancer in cats and dogs. He is also a published author, having written a textbook on Endocrinology and contributed to four other books. Dr. Drazner has lectured in numerous states, as well as in Canada, Mexico, and France. He graduated with honors, was an Outstanding Senior Student in Small Animal Medicine, and is a member of the Phi Zeta Honorary Veterinary Society. Dr. Drazner is also a Diplomate American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.
When he's not at work, Dr. Drazner enjoys playing electric blues guitar, weight training, and participating in movie discussion groups. He is married to Sharon, a retired French teacher, and has three children: Keith, Eric, and Kate. Keith has special needs, Eric is a professional guitarist, and Kate is a college professor.
