Cody Mullins, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Cody Mullins earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2022 and joined our team later that year. His journey to veterinary medicine began early, growing up surrounded by animals as part of his daily family life—dogs, lizards, turtles, hamsters, and fish. He would spend his free time researching and doing school projects about reptiles and ocean creatures.

Dr. Mullins was inspired to become a veterinarian in high school through his love for his childhood dogs, Zowie and Quincy, and the experience of caring for them during their cancer treatments. This experience, combined with his love for science, created passion for animal care and guided him toward a career in veterinary medicine.

One of Dr. Mullins’ most memorable patients was during his time at the Wildlife Medical Clinic in vet school, where he worked with Canada Geese. Treating these Canada Geese particularly showcased the vital teamwork necessary in veterinary medicine- the reward of seeing patients rebound to health, and the unique experience of releasing a migratory species back into the wild.

At home, Dr. Mullins has two dogs, Bluto (an American Staffordshire Terrier) and Yogi (an American Staffordshire Terrier/Boxer mix), two Red-Eared Slider turtles, and several freshwater fish tanks.
When he’s not caring for animals, Dr. Mullins loves exploring National Parks, hiking, camping, scuba diving, and watching baseball. Glacier National Park is a personal favorite, and he dreams of visiting all 63 National Parks, scuba diving in the Great Barrier Reef, and attending games at all 30 MLB team stadiums. His favorite foods include BBQ, spicy dishes, and Oreos.

Dr. Mullins bring his expertise, compassion, and love for animals to our veterinary team!
