Joanna Krol, DVM
Owner & Veterinarian
Originally from New York, Dr. Joanna Krol grew up in a family of doctors. Her passion for animal care sparked early on by her grandfather, who was a veterinarian. She pursued dual degrees in music and biology at Indiana University, ultimately discovering her true love for veterinary medicine. She went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at Cornell University, followed by an internship in New York City at the Manhattan Veterinary Group.
Dr. Krol's first practice was a walk-in clinic in Chicago, which she built from the ground up with her trusted partner and mentor, Dr. John Coyne. Managing this high-intensity, 7-day-a-week clinic provided her with invaluable lessons in practice management and hands-on patient care. Later, seeking a balanced environment for her family, she relocated to Barrington, where she partnered with Dr. Stapleton to expand and modernize the local animal hospital, making it a leading and longest running veterinary practice in the community.
