Kimberly Ford, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Kimberly Ford began her journey in veterinary medicine at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she completed three years of undergraduate study before being accepted into the College of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated in 1998, pursing career driven by a passion for helping animals and their families.

Dr. Ford's interest in veterinary medicine was sparked during her youth when her family’s dog underwent treatment for Cushing’s Disease and cancer. Witnessing her veterinarian’s care inspired her to make a difference for other pets and their owners. Her fascination with veterinary dentistry began during her undergraduate studies when she observed a root canal procedure in a dog.

In 2005, Dr. Ford joined our team at its original location as Barrington Animal Hospital. After years of general practice, she pursued a residency in Veterinary Dentistry under the guidance of Dr. Barbara Stapleton. In 2023, her dedication and expertise earned her the Mark and Debra Smith Journal of Veterinary Dentistry Editor's Award, recognizing her outstanding manuscript published as a resident candidate.

Dr. Ford has had Miniature Pinschers for 25 years, and her current companions are Mackenzie (a red stag female) and Zachary (a black and tan male). Mackenzie enjoys Nose Work activities, while Zach dedicates himself to defending the home from squirrels and delivery drivers. Dr. Ford spends her free time gardening, crafting, reading, and, of course- serving her Min Pins. Her dedication to both her pets and her work makes her an invaluable member of Barrington Animal Dental within Animal Care Center.
