Veterinarian and Medical Director

Dr. Leah Litchfield earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine with honors from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 and joined our team in 2020. Her passion for veterinary medicine was sparked by listening to "Dog Stories" by James Herriot, where the tales of working with animals inspired her to dedicate her life to caring for pets.

Dr. Litchfield has a special interest in soft tissue surgery and loves her time on the surgery floor. She adores working with all animals, and both dogs and cats hold an equal place in her heart. At home, Dr. Litchfield has a lively family that includes her husband, two daughters, three chocolate Labrador Retrievers—Maezee, Luna, and Percy—and four cats—Dieter, Goldie, Squiggles, and Swiss.

Outside of work, Dr. Litchfield enjoys supporting her daughters in their sports and theater activities, spending quality time with her family, and staying active. Her dedication to pets and people alike makes her an essential part of our team!
